Big Momma's House

On the data. Three films, and the third one is easy to miss because it is not called Big Momma's House 3. It is called Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son, and the plural is the point: the agent's stepson goes undercover in a suit as well. The series is straightforward. Each film restates the premise and puts it in a new location. Nothing carries over that you need, so they work in any order, though the third does assume you know who the first two were about. The critical reception got worse with each film while the box office held up for the first two and collapsed on the third. That is why there is no fourth. Worth flagging for anyone coming to these for the first time: the comedy rests on a thin man in a fat suit playing an older Black woman, and a lot of it has aged very badly. That is the honest state of it rather than a judgement about whether to watch.
