Where to start with Black Clover

One long series, one film and a continuation arriving in October 2026. The order is almost the order it came out in, with one catch worth knowing before you start: the film is set inside the series rather than after it, and watching it where it belongs will spoil the end of the series for you.

  1. 1
Season 1, episodes 1 to 51 Black Clover

The start, and nothing comes before it. Be warned that this is the stretch people most often give up on: it takes its time setting up the world and the shouting is at its loudest early. The Magic Knights entrance exam is where it starts being itself.

  2. 2
Seasons 2 and 3, episodes 52 to 154 Black Clover

A hundred and three episodes and the best of the series, ending with the Elf Reincarnation arc, which is what most people are thinking of when they recommend the show. There is filler in here but it is thin on the ground compared with most long shonen runs.

  3. 3
Season 4, episodes 155 to 170 Black Clover

Sixteen episodes, and the run stops rather than ends. It sets up the Spade Kingdom and then the anime went away for five years, which is the gap the 2026 season closes.

  4. 4
Sword of the Wizard King Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King

Here rather than at its chronological spot between episodes 157 and 158, because it gives away things from the last stretch of the series. If you are rewatching and already know how it ends, 157 is where it actually belongs.

Then what? After that the 2nd Season begins on 3 October 2026 and continues straight on from episode 170. The three side entries can be taken or left at any point: the 2016 Jump Festa pilot retells the opening, the 2018 special is a quiz show with the cast in character, and Squishy! is a gag series in a universe of its own.

A suggested way in, not an official one. The full list is below: tick anything off in either place.

Sync & backup

Your progress is saved on this device automatically. The code below takes a copy out and puts it back. Moving a whole list onto a device that has nothing on it yet is part of the subscription.

The code holds only this franchise. The link opens the tracker with your progress already filled in, good for showing someone where you're at. The image is a picture you can keep anywhere: scan the code on it with a phone, or drag the file back in below.

Every franchise you have touched, in one code.

Scan it with another device's camera, or paste the code in below. It never leaves your browser.

Drag a SagaList image here, or .

This reads the progress stored inside the picture, so nothing has to be retyped. If the image has been through a messaging app it may have been re-encoded and lost that: scan the code on it instead, or copy the code printed along the bottom.

Takes either kind of code. A single franchise code replaces that franchise, on any device. An everything code merges by default, so nothing you have ticked on this device is lost. Putting a whole list onto a device that has nothing on it yet is the part an account pays for.

Read only. This never changes what you have saved, and nothing leaves your browser. The code has to be their code for this same franchise: codes do not carry a name, so one from somewhere else may not be recognised as wrong.
