Nineteen seasons under two different names, and two spin-offs that feed nothing back.

Where to start with Criminal Minds

One show, straight through, seasons one to nineteen. The only thing that trips people up is a cataloguing problem rather than a story one, and it is worth knowing before you open a streaming menu.

  1. 1
Criminal Minds, season 1 Criminal Minds

Twenty-two episodes, a case an hour, and no serialised arc to fall behind on. Nothing before it.

  2. 2
Criminal Minds, season 15 Criminal Minds

Ten episodes, and the end of the network run. If your service treats what follows as a separate show, this is the point where it will hand you off.

  3. 3
Criminal Minds, season 16 Criminal Minds

Branded Criminal Minds: Evolution and often listed as its own season one. It is not a reboot: it picks up directly from the season fifteen finale.

Then what? Seasons seventeen, eighteen and nineteen carry on from there, all ten episodes each, and a twentieth is renewed for 2027 with nothing announced about it. The two spin-offs sit outside the timeline completely. If you want the connective tissue without the commitment, their setup episodes are ordinary episodes of the main show, season 5 episode 18 and season 10 episode 19.

A suggested way in, not an official one. The full list is below — tick anything off in either place.

Sync & backup

Your progress is saved on this device automatically. To carry it to another device, move the code below.

The code holds only this franchise. The link opens the tracker with your progress already filled in — good for showing someone where you're at. The image is a picture you can keep anywhere: scan the code on it with a phone, or drag the file back in below.

Drag a SagaList image here, or .

This reads the progress stored inside the picture, so nothing has to be retyped. If the image has been through a messaging app it may have been re-encoded and lost that — scan the code on it instead, or copy the code printed along the bottom.

Restoring replaces the progress currently saved on this device for the franchise the code belongs to.
