St Trinian's

Four films in the fifties and sixties, one stranded in 1980, then a revival twenty seven years later with nothing carried over.

Where to start with St Trinian's

Two separate things with a fifty year gap. Pick the original run or pick the revival, and do not expect one to lead into the other.

  1. 1
The Belles of St Trinian's (1954) The Belles of St Trinian's

The first and the best. Alastair Sim plays both the headmistress and her bookmaker brother, and the whole idea of the school is established here.

  2. 2
Blue Murder at St Trinian's (1957) Blue Murder at St Trinian's

The direct sequel, and still very good, though Alastair Sim only appears in two scenes of it. Terry-Thomas arrives.

  3. 3
    St Trinian's (2007) St Trinian's

Start here instead if you want the modern pair. It is a revival, not a continuation: the headmistress has a different first name, there is a new Flash Harry, and nothing from the old films is needed.

Then what? The Pure Hell of St Trinian's from 1960 and The Great St Trinian's Train Robbery from 1966 finish the original run, the second of them with the headmistress replaced by a completely new character. The Wildcats of St Trinian's from 1980 is fourteen years adrift, made with almost none of the old cast, and it is genuinely hard to find. St Trinian's 2 from 2009 follows on directly from the 2007 film.

A suggested way in, not an official one. The full list is below: tick anything off in either place.

Everything you tick is saved in this browser and nowhere else. An account is the only way to put your list on another device, and the only way to get it back if this browser clears its storage. It is free and it takes an email address and a password.

Sign in on your phone, your laptop, anything, and the same list is there, kept in step as you tick. Nothing to copy, nothing to remember.

All three are about this franchise and all three are for showing, not moving. The link and the picture open SagaList with that progress displayed next to whatever the person opening it has already ticked. The code is what a friend pastes into Compare below. None of them writes anything into anybody's list.

Read only. This never changes what you have saved, and nothing leaves your browser. The code has to be their code for this same franchise: codes do not carry a name, so one from somewhere else may not be recognised as wrong.

Removes everything ticked here, in this browser. If you are signed in it clears on your other devices too. If you are not, there is no other copy and this cannot be undone.
