An American college football coach hired to run an English football club he knows nothing about. Four seasons, one Christmas short, and the two adverts he started life in.
Start at the first episode and keep going. It is one continuous story, the seasons run straight on from each other, and nothing outside the numbered episodes is needed. The two adverts the character came from are a curiosity to watch afterwards, not a prologue: the Ted of the adverts is a fool being laughed at, and the Ted of the series is not, which is the whole reason the series works.
