The Hangover

Three films, and the third one is not a hangover film at all.

Where to start with The Hangover

Straight through in order. There is nothing clever to work out here: three films, released two years apart, set roughly two years apart, and each one leans on the last.

  1. 1
    The Hangover (2009) The Hangover

The one that works. A bachelor party nobody can remember, reconstructed backwards. Nothing precedes it.

  2. 2
The Hangover Part II (2011) The Hangover Part II

The same shape again in Bangkok, and it says so out loud. The whole comic premise depends on the characters already knowing what happened last time.

  3. 3
The Hangover Part III (2013) The Hangover Part III

Not a hangover film. There is no blackout and no reconstruction: it is a kidnapping story that closes out Mr. Chow. It only makes sense after the other two.

Then what? That is all three. There is a scene after the credits of the third film which is chronologically the last thing that happens in the series, so do not stop when the lights come up. No television series exists.

A suggested way in, not an official one. The full list is below: tick anything off in either place.

Everything you tick is saved in this browser and nowhere else. An account is the only way to put your list on another device, and the only way to get it back if this browser clears its storage. It is free and it takes an email address and a password.

Sign in on your phone, your laptop, anything, and the same list is there, kept in step as you tick. Nothing to copy, nothing to remember.

All three are about this franchise and all three are for showing, not moving. The link and the picture open SagaList with that progress displayed next to whatever the person opening it has already ticked. The code is what a friend pastes into Compare below. None of them writes anything into anybody's list.

Read only. This never changes what you have saved, and nothing leaves your browser. The code has to be their code for this same franchise: codes do not carry a name, so one from somewhere else may not be recognised as wrong.

Removes everything ticked here, in this browser. If you are signed in it clears on your other devices too. If you are not, there is no other copy and this cannot be undone.
