Where to start with The White Lotus

Start wherever you like, and that is a real answer rather than a shrug. This is an anthology: each season is a new hotel, a new set of guests and a new cast, and the plot of one does not continue into another. Season one is the shortest and the sharpest, so it is the easiest sell, but if a friend told you season three is the good one, you can start there and lose nothing.

  1. 1
Season 1, Hawaii The White Lotus

Six episodes in 2021, and the tightest of the three. A week at a Maui resort that opens with a body on a plane and works backwards.

  2. 2
Season 2, Sicily The White Lotus

Seven episodes in 2022. The only one with a returning character, which is the single thread connecting any two seasons.

  3. 3
Season 3, Thailand The White Lotus

Eight episodes in 2025, the longest and slowest of them. Entirely new guests again.

Then what? A fourth season was ordered in January 2025 and filmed in and around Cannes through 2026. No date and no episode count have been announced, so nothing is written here yet. If you want the one piece of continuity, watch seasons one and two in that order: Jennifer Coolidge's Tanya is in both and her story only makes sense that way.

A suggested way in, not an official one. The full list is below: tick anything off in either place.

Everything you tick is saved in this browser and nowhere else. An account is the only way to put your list on another device, and the only way to get it back if this browser clears its storage. It is free and it takes an email address and a password.

Sign in on your phone, your laptop, anything, and the same list is there, kept in step as you tick. Nothing to copy, nothing to remember.

All three are about this franchise and all three are for showing, not moving. The link and the picture open SagaList with that progress displayed next to whatever the person opening it has already ticked. The code is what a friend pastes into Compare below. None of them writes anything into anybody's list.

Read only. This never changes what you have saved, and nothing leaves your browser. The code has to be their code for this same franchise: codes do not carry a name, so one from somewhere else may not be recognised as wrong.

Removes everything ticked here, in this browser. If you are signed in it clears on your other devices too. If you are not, there is no other copy and this cannot be undone.
