Atelier

On the data. A short page for a very long game series with very little screen output. Atelier has been running since 1997 and is past twenty five games, grouped into named arcs: Salburg, Arland, Dusk, Mysterious, Ryza and others. Two of those games have been animated, from different arcs, nine years apart, and the two series have nothing to do with each other. That means there is no watch order here at all. Either series works alone, and neither gives you a sense of the wider game series, because each arc is self contained anyway. The games are unusual in their genre for being about making things rather than fighting. Combat exists and is secondary; the core of them is gathering materials, combining them and meeting deadlines. Both anime adaptations reflect that, which is why they feel gentler than most fantasy series. Nothing further has been announced.
