Where to start with Chef's Table

Anywhere. There is no order and no continuity: each episode is a self-contained portrait of one chef, shot the same way, and nothing in any episode depends on another. Pick a chef you have heard of, or pick the spin-off about the food you like, and go from there. The series was made so that you could.

  1. 1
    Season 1 (2015) Chef's Table

Six episodes and the one that set the format, including Massimo Bottura and Francis Mallmann. If you want to know whether the show is for you, this answers it.

  2. 2
    Chef's Table: Pizza (2022) Chef's Table: Pizza

Six episodes, the longest of the spin-offs, and the easiest one to hand somebody who thinks fine dining documentaries are not for them.

  3. 3
    Chef's Table: Legends (2025) Chef's Table: Legends

Four episodes and the most recent, on chefs whose careers are largely behind them. A different register from the rest.

Then what? The rest divides cleanly. Main seasons two to seven ran from 2016 to 2024, with the fourth subtitled Pastry. The other spin-offs are France in 2016, BBQ in 2020 and Noodles in 2024. Fifty six episodes in total across everything.

A suggested way in, not an official one. The full list is below: tick anything off in either place.

Everything you tick is saved in this browser and nowhere else. An account is the only way to put your list on another device, and the only way to get it back if this browser clears its storage. It is free and it takes an email address and a password.

Sign in on your phone, your laptop, anything, and the same list is there, kept in step as you tick. Nothing to copy, nothing to remember.

All three are about this franchise and all three are for showing, not moving. The link and the picture open SagaList with that progress displayed next to whatever the person opening it has already ticked. The code is what a friend pastes into Compare below. None of them writes anything into anybody's list.

Read only. This never changes what you have saved, and nothing leaves your browser. The code has to be their code for this same franchise: codes do not carry a name, so one from somewhere else may not be recognised as wrong.

Removes everything ticked here, in this browser. If you are signed in it clears on your other devices too. If you are not, there is no other copy and this cannot be undone.
