Where to start with Cube

Release order, and this one genuinely matters. The third film is a prequel, and watching it first explains the mystery that the first film depends on you not knowing.

  1. 1
    Cube (1997) Cube

Six strangers, no explanation, and that is the point. Every other film in the series either explains this one or copies it, so it has to come first.

  2. 2
    Cube 2: Hypercube (2002) Cube 2: Hypercube

The odd middle film. It abandons the practical sets for a computer generated fourth dimension, and how firmly it connects to the other two is genuinely disputed.

  3. 3
    Cube Zero (2004) Cube Zero

The prequel, and the reason this page exists. It is set before the 1997 film and shows you the people running the thing from outside. Watch it last, because watching it first removes the only question the first film has.

Then what? The 2021 Japanese film is a licensed remake of the 1997 original and stands completely apart from the three Canadian films. An American remake was announced in 2015 and never made.

A suggested way in, not an official one. The full list is below: tick anything off in either place.

Everything you tick is saved in this browser and nowhere else. An account is the only way to put your list on another device, and the only way to get it back if this browser clears its storage. It is free and it takes an email address and a password.

Sign in on your phone, your laptop, anything, and the same list is there, kept in step as you tick. Nothing to copy, nothing to remember.

All three are about this franchise and all three are for showing, not moving. The link and the picture open SagaList with that progress displayed next to whatever the person opening it has already ticked. The code is what a friend pastes into Compare below. None of them writes anything into anybody's list.

Read only. This never changes what you have saved, and nothing leaves your browser. The code has to be their code for this same franchise: codes do not carry a name, so one from somewhere else may not be recognised as wrong.

Removes everything ticked here, in this browser. If you are signed in it clears on your other devices too. If you are not, there is no other copy and this cannot be undone.
