Four films and a set of animated shorts, and the shorts are the reason this has a guide at all. The Animatrix is not a bonus feature: two of its nine pieces are the backstory the films never stop to explain, and one leads directly into the second film.

Complete in itself, and for eighteen years a great many people watched only this one and were perfectly happy. Nothing before it.
Nine animated shorts released between the first and second films. The Second Renaissance explains how the world got this way, and Final Flight of the Osiris sets up the opening of Reloaded, which is otherwise slightly baffling.
Picks up the story properly and ends mid-sentence, so it is best watched close to Revolutions rather than alone. Considerably more talking than the first one, on purpose.
Then what? Revolutions follows immediately and finishes that story. Resurrections arrived eighteen years later, is openly about being a sequel nobody asked for, and is the one worth going in with no expectations at all. Watching only the first film remains an entirely defensible choice.

Takes either kind of code. A single franchise code replaces that franchise, on any device. An everything code merges by default, so nothing you have ticked on this device is lost. Putting a whole list onto a device that has nothing on it yet is the part an account pays for.
Read only. This never changes what you have saved, and nothing leaves your browser. The code has to be their code for this same franchise: codes do not carry a name, so one from somewhere else may not be recognised as wrong.
