Food Wars!

Eighty six episodes in five seasons, or six, depending which database you ask. The arithmetic is the same either way.

Where to start with Food Wars!

Five seasons in order and the OVAs wherever you like. The only thing that trips people up is the season numbering, and it never changes what to watch next, only what it is called.

  1. 1
Season one, twenty four episodes Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma

The longest season by far and the one that sets up the school. Two cours straight through.

  2. 2
The Second Plate, thirteen episodes Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma

The Autumn Election. Short, and it continues directly.

  3. 3
The Third Plate, twenty four episodes across two years Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma

Twelve in late 2017 and twelve more in spring 2018. Some databases call that second half season four, which is where the numbering comes apart. Watch all twenty four before anything else.

  4. 4
The Fourth Plate, twelve episodes Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma

The Regiment de Cuisine. Called the fifth season by MyAnimeList, LiveChart and Anime News Network.

  5. 5
The Fifth Plate, thirteen episodes Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma

The ending, thirteen rather than twelve, interrupted for three months by covid after its second episode.

Then what? The five OVAs are bundled extras tied to specific manga volumes and sit outside the story. Nothing has been announced since September 2020.

A suggested way in, not an official one. The full list is below: tick anything off in either place.

Everything you tick is saved in this browser and nowhere else. An account is the only way to put your list on another device, and the only way to get it back if this browser clears its storage. It is free and it takes an email address and a password.

Sign in on your phone, your laptop, anything, and the same list is there, kept in step as you tick. Nothing to copy, nothing to remember.

All three are about this franchise and all three are for showing, not moving. The link and the picture open SagaList with that progress displayed next to whatever the person opening it has already ticked. The code is what a friend pastes into Compare below. None of them writes anything into anybody's list.

Read only. This never changes what you have saved, and nothing leaves your browser. The code has to be their code for this same franchise: codes do not carry a name, so one from somewhere else may not be recognised as wrong.

Removes everything ticked here, in this browser. If you are signed in it clears on your other devices too. If you are not, there is no other copy and this cannot be undone.
