Ghost Rider

Two films with the same star, and the second one quietly restarts the story.

Where to start with Ghost Rider

Both, in order, and it is a short evening. The only thing worth knowing in advance is that the sequel does not behave like one.

  1. 1
    Ghost Rider (2007) Ghost Rider

The origin. A Texas prologue about the devil's bounty hunter, then Johnny Blaze making his deal in 1986, then the present day. Nothing precedes it.

  2. 2
Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (2011) Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance

Same Johnny Blaze and the same actor, set some years later in eastern Europe, but it re-tells the origin from scratch and brings back no supporting character. The devil is even renamed and recast.

Then what? That is both of them. The Ghost Rider who appears in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. from 2016 is Robbie Reyes, a different character in a different continuity, and is not listed here. Marvel Studios announced a new Ghost Rider film for July 2028 with Ryan Gosling; it is a fresh start with no connection to these two and nothing has been made, so nothing is listed for it either.

A suggested way in, not an official one. The full list is below: tick anything off in either place.

Everything you tick is saved in this browser and nowhere else. An account is the only way to put your list on another device, and the only way to get it back if this browser clears its storage. It is free and it takes an email address and a password.

Sign in on your phone, your laptop, anything, and the same list is there, kept in step as you tick. Nothing to copy, nothing to remember.

All three are about this franchise and all three are for showing, not moving. The link and the picture open SagaList with that progress displayed next to whatever the person opening it has already ticked. The code is what a friend pastes into Compare below. None of them writes anything into anybody's list.

Read only. This never changes what you have saved, and nothing leaves your browser. The code has to be their code for this same franchise: codes do not carry a name, so one from somewhere else may not be recognised as wrong.

Removes everything ticked here, in this browser. If you are signed in it clears on your other devices too. If you are not, there is no other copy and this cannot be undone.
