Where to start with Golden Kamuy

Two separate runs. The anime is five seasons in a straight line. The live action goes film, series, film, and the series in the middle is not optional.

  1. 1
    Golden Kamuy (2018) Golden Kamuy

Five seasons adapting the whole manga in order with nothing skipped, which is rare. The studio changes at season four and the fourth season's final episode arrived seven months late, so listings disagree about whether it is twelve episodes or thirteen.

  2. 2
Golden Kamuy (2024 film) Golden Kamuy

The live action version, and a separate continuity. It covers the opening of the manga and it needs nothing before it.

  3. 3
Golden Kamuy: The Hunt of Prisoners in Hokkaido (2024) Golden Kamuy: The Hunt of Prisoners in Hokkaido

Nine episodes, and the middle of the live action story rather than a side project. The second film picks up from here, so missing it leaves a hole.

Then what? The Abashiri Prison Raid, in 2026, continues the live action run from the series. Five short video episodes were also bundled with manga volumes between 2018 and 2025; they are side stories, they are not on most services, and nothing depends on them.

A suggested way in, not an official one. The full list is below: tick anything off in either place.

Everything you tick is saved in this browser and nowhere else. An account is the only way to put your list on another device, and the only way to get it back if this browser clears its storage. It is free and it takes an email address and a password.

Sign in on your phone, your laptop, anything, and the same list is there, kept in step as you tick. Nothing to copy, nothing to remember.

All three are about this franchise and all three are for showing, not moving. The link and the picture open SagaList with that progress displayed next to whatever the person opening it has already ticked. The code is what a friend pastes into Compare below. None of them writes anything into anybody's list.

Read only. This never changes what you have saved, and nothing leaves your browser. The code has to be their code for this same franchise: codes do not carry a name, so one from somewhere else may not be recognised as wrong.

Removes everything ticked here, in this browser. If you are signed in it clears on your other devices too. If you are not, there is no other copy and this cannot be undone.
