Gravity Falls

Forty episodes, seventy shorts, and it was always meant to end.

Where to start with Gravity Falls

In order, from the first episode, and do not skip anything. This looks like a monster-of-the-week cartoon for the first half dozen episodes and it is not. There is a single mystery running under all forty episodes, it is planted early in things that look like throwaway jokes, and the series was written to finish. Watching it out of order is the one way to ruin it.

  1. 1
    Season 1 Gravity Falls

Twenty episodes from 2012. Two twelve-year-olds spend the summer at their great-uncle's tourist trap in Oregon and find a journal in the woods.

  2. 2
    Season 2 Gravity Falls

Twenty more, finishing in February 2016. The running mystery takes over and the show commits to an ending.

  3. 3
The shorts, any time Gravity Falls shorts

Seventy of them, a minute or two each, made alongside the series. They are extra rather than essential and they contain no plot you need.

Then what? Between the Pines is a 2016 retrospective special that goes through the series' clues and codes, so save it until after the finale. The show stopped at forty episodes because Alex Hirsch planned it that way, not because Disney cancelled it.

A suggested way in, not an official one. The full list is below: tick anything off in either place.

Everything you tick is saved in this browser and nowhere else. An account is the only way to put your list on another device, and the only way to get it back if this browser clears its storage. It is free and it takes an email address and a password.

Sign in on your phone, your laptop, anything, and the same list is there, kept in step as you tick. Nothing to copy, nothing to remember.

All three are about this franchise and all three are for showing, not moving. The link and the picture open SagaList with that progress displayed next to whatever the person opening it has already ticked. The code is what a friend pastes into Compare below. None of them writes anything into anybody's list.

Read only. This never changes what you have saved, and nothing leaves your browser. The code has to be their code for this same franchise: codes do not carry a name, so one from somewhere else may not be recognised as wrong.

Removes everything ticked here, in this browser. If you are signed in it clears on your other devices too. If you are not, there is no other copy and this cannot be undone.
