Where to start with Monsters vs. Aliens

Film first, then the two Halloween specials in order, then the series. The only ordering fact that matters is that the second special is a direct sequel to the first.

  1. 1
Monsters vs. Aliens (2009) Monsters vs. Aliens

The film. Self-contained, and everything else assumes you have seen it.

  2. 2
Mutant Pumpkins from Outer Space (2009) Mutant Pumpkins from Outer Space

A twenty seven minute Halloween special made for NBC, and the directing debut of Peter Ramsey, who later made Rise of the Guardians and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

  3. 3
Night of the Living Carrots (2011) Night of the Living Carrots

Thirteen minutes, and a direct sequel to Mutant Pumpkins rather than to the film. Watch it second of the two.

  4. 4
Monsters vs. Aliens, the series (2013) Monsters vs. Aliens

Twenty six episodes on Nickelodeon, recast, and its own thing. Entirely optional.

Then what? B.O.B.'s Big Break is a short on the disc and can go anywhere. There is no second film: Katzenberg ruled one out in October 2009 because the first did not perform well enough outside America.

A suggested way in, not an official one. The full list is below: tick anything off in either place.

Everything you tick is saved in this browser and nowhere else. An account is the only way to put your list on another device, and the only way to get it back if this browser clears its storage. It is free and it takes an email address and a password.

Sign in on your phone, your laptop, anything, and the same list is there, kept in step as you tick. Nothing to copy, nothing to remember.

All three are about this franchise and all three are for showing, not moving. The link and the picture open SagaList with that progress displayed next to whatever the person opening it has already ticked. The code is what a friend pastes into Compare below. None of them writes anything into anybody's list.

Read only. This never changes what you have saved, and nothing leaves your browser. The code has to be their code for this same franchise: codes do not carry a name, so one from somewhere else may not be recognised as wrong.

Removes everything ticked here, in this browser. If you are signed in it clears on your other devices too. If you are not, there is no other copy and this cannot be undone.
