The Powerpuff Girls

An original series, a prequel film released in the middle of it, and a 2016 reboot that shares nothing with either.

Where to start with The Powerpuff Girls

Watch the original series. Do not start with the 2002 film even though it is the origin story, and do not treat the 2016 series as a continuation of anything, because it is not.

  1. 1
The Powerpuff Girls, seasons 1 to 6 (1998 to 2005) The Powerpuff Girls

In order. Almost entirely standalone, so it is easy to dip into.

  2. 2
The Powerpuff Girls Movie (2002) The Powerpuff Girls Movie

A prequel that retells the origin, released in the middle of the run. Watch it after season one at the earliest. Watching it first strips the series of its own, differently told, beginning.

  3. 3
The Powerpuff Girls: Dance Pantsed (2014) The Powerpuff Girls: Dance Pantsed

A one-off computer animated special years after the series ended. A coda, and the last thing in the original continuity.

Then what? The 2016 series is a reboot with its own continuity and can be watched entirely on its own or not at all. Powerpuff Girls Z is a separate Japanese version and is outside the order completely. A new theatrical film was announced by Warner Bros in June 2026 with no date, no director and no cast, so nothing is listed for it.

A suggested way in, not an official one. The full list is below: tick anything off in either place.

Everything you tick is saved in this browser and nowhere else. An account is the only way to put your list on another device, and the only way to get it back if this browser clears its storage. It is free and it takes an email address and a password.

Sign in on your phone, your laptop, anything, and the same list is there, kept in step as you tick. Nothing to copy, nothing to remember.

All three are about this franchise and all three are for showing, not moving. The link and the picture open SagaList with that progress displayed next to whatever the person opening it has already ticked. The code is what a friend pastes into Compare below. None of them writes anything into anybody's list.

Read only. This never changes what you have saved, and nothing leaves your browser. The code has to be their code for this same franchise: codes do not carry a name, so one from somewhere else may not be recognised as wrong.

Removes everything ticked here, in this browser. If you are signed in it clears on your other devices too. If you are not, there is no other copy and this cannot be undone.
