Pushpa

Two films so far, and the second made more than four times what the first did.

Where to start with Pushpa

The Rise, then The Rule, in that order. The subtitles tell you the shape of it: the first film is a man climbing from nothing to the top of a red sandalwood smuggling operation, and the second is what he does once he is there. The second film assumes you watched the first and does not recap it.

  1. 1
Pushpa: The Rise (2021) Pushpa: The Rise

A labourer in the Seshachalam forests works his way up the smuggling trade. It built slowly after release and became a hit on word of mouth.

  2. 2
Pushpa 2: The Rule (2024) Pushpa 2: The Rule

Three years later and on a vastly bigger budget. It took around four and a half times what the first one did.

Then what? A third film was confirmed by the director straight after The Rule came out, and the title was revealed in that film's post-credits scene as Pushpa 3: The Rampage. The only date reported for it is a long way off and has not been formally announced, so the row carries no year.

A suggested way in, not an official one. The full list is below: tick anything off in either place.

Everything you tick is saved in this browser and nowhere else. An account is the only way to put your list on another device, and the only way to get it back if this browser clears its storage. It is free and it takes an email address and a password.

Sign in on your phone, your laptop, anything, and the same list is there, kept in step as you tick. Nothing to copy, nothing to remember.

All three are about this franchise and all three are for showing, not moving. The link and the picture open SagaList with that progress displayed next to whatever the person opening it has already ticked. The code is what a friend pastes into Compare below. None of them writes anything into anybody's list.

Read only. This never changes what you have saved, and nothing leaves your browser. The code has to be their code for this same franchise: codes do not carry a name, so one from somewhere else may not be recognised as wrong.

Removes everything ticked here, in this browser. If you are signed in it clears on your other devices too. If you are not, there is no other copy and this cannot be undone.
