Where to start with Baahubali

Either the two films in order, or the single cut. What you cannot do is watch the second film first, because the first one asks a question that the second exists to answer.

  1. 1
Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) Baahubali: The Beginning

A young man raised below a waterfall climbs it, and the film then drops into a long flashback about two cousins competing for a throne. It ends on the reveal that the loyal general Kattappa killed Baahubali, which is where it stops.

  2. 2
Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017) Baahubali 2: The Conclusion

It does not pick up in the present. It resumes the flashback, and most of the film is Kattappa still narrating the past. Only in the final act does it come back to the present day and finish the story.

Then what? Baahubali: The Epic from 2025 is those two films re-edited into a single 225 minute picture, with one previously unreleased scene added and several songs and the romantic material trimmed. It is an alternative to watching both rather than an extra, and it removes the two year cliffhanger, which is either the point or the loss depending on your view. The two animated series are prequels and are better afterwards: they assume you already know who everybody is.

A suggested way in, not an official one. The full list is below: tick anything off in either place.

Everything you tick is saved in this browser and nowhere else. An account is the only way to put your list on another device, and the only way to get it back if this browser clears its storage. It is free and it takes an email address and a password.

Sign in on your phone, your laptop, anything, and the same list is there, kept in step as you tick. Nothing to copy, nothing to remember.

All three are about this franchise and all three are for showing, not moving. The link and the picture open SagaList with that progress displayed next to whatever the person opening it has already ticked. The code is what a friend pastes into Compare below. None of them writes anything into anybody's list.

Read only. This never changes what you have saved, and nothing leaves your browser. The code has to be their code for this same franchise: codes do not carry a name, so one from somewhere else may not be recognised as wrong.

Removes everything ticked here, in this browser. If you are signed in it clears on your other devices too. If you are not, there is no other copy and this cannot be undone.
