Reacher

The order is obvious. The books are not: the seasons run one, eleven, seven, thirteen, twenty.

Where to start with Reacher

The watching order is completely obvious: seasons one, two, three, four, then the spin-off. What is not obvious is the reading order, because the show picks a different Lee Child novel every season with no pattern at all.

  1. 1
    Reacher, season 1 Reacher

Eight episodes adapting Killing Floor, which happens to be the first novel. That is the only time the season number and the book number line up.

  2. 2
    Reacher, season 2 Reacher

Jumps to the eleventh novel, Bad Luck and Trouble, which is where the 110th unit and Frances Neagley come from. It needs nothing from the books in between.

  3. 3
    Reacher, season 3 Reacher

Back to the seventh novel, Persuader. If you are reading along, this is where you find out that guessing the next book from the last one does not work.

Then what? The fourth season takes the thirteenth novel, Gone Tomorrow, and starts on 12 August 2026. Neagley follows on 16 September, eight episodes released at once, with Alan Ritchson guest starring. A fifth season is confirmed and takes the twentieth novel, Make Me, with no date announced. The two Tom Cruise films are a separate adaptation that stopped in 2016 and connect to none of it.

A suggested way in, not an official one. The full list is below — tick anything off in either place.

Your progress is saved on this device automatically. To carry it to another device, move the code below.

The code holds only this franchise. The link opens the tracker with your progress already filled in — good for showing someone where you're at. The image is a picture you can keep anywhere: scan the code on it with a phone, or drag the file back in below.

Drag a SagaList image here, or .

This reads the progress stored inside the picture, so nothing has to be retyped. If the image has been through a messaging app it may have been re-encoded and lost that — scan the code on it instead, or copy the code printed along the bottom.

Restoring replaces the progress currently saved on this device for the franchise the code belongs to.
