The Roundup

The first film is called The Outlaws in English and the rest are called The Roundup, while in Korea all of them are Crime City and plainly numbered, so no two listings agree on which film is which.

Where to start with The Roundup

Release order is story order here, so the only real difficulty is working out which film you are looking at. Start with the one called The Outlaws, which is film one everywhere in the world even though it is the only one in English without the word Roundup on it.

  1. 1
    The Outlaws The Outlaws

The 2017 original, Korean title 범죄도시. If a service is showing you something called Crime City with no number, this is it, and everything after it assumes you have met Ma Seok-do here.

  2. 2
    The Roundup The Roundup

Korean 범죄도시2, and the film that gave the series its English name. It opens four years after the first and moves the case to Ho Chi Minh City.

  3. 3
The Roundup: No Way Out The Roundup: No Way Out

Korean 범죄도시3. Ma Seok-do is promoted into the Seoul Metropolitan Investigation Unit at the start of it, which is the clearest marker that these films run in a line.

Then what? Then The Roundup: Punishment, Korean 범죄도시4, from 2024. A fifth film began filming in May 2026 with Lee Sang-yong directing again and is being pre-sold for 2027; its English title is provisional. Ma Dong-seok has talked about eight films and two spin-offs, which is an ambition rather than a schedule, so nothing beyond the fifth is listed.

A suggested way in, not an official one. The full list is below — tick anything off in either place.

Your progress is saved on this device automatically. To carry it to another device, move the code below.

The code holds only this franchise. The link opens the tracker with your progress already filled in — good for showing someone where you're at. The image is a picture you can keep anywhere: scan the code on it with a phone, or drag the file back in below.

Drag a SagaList image here, or .

This reads the progress stored inside the picture, so nothing has to be retyped. If the image has been through a messaging app it may have been re-encoded and lost that — scan the code on it instead, or copy the code printed along the bottom.

Restoring replaces the progress currently saved on this device for the franchise the code belongs to.

Read only. This never changes what you have saved, and nothing leaves your browser. The code has to be their code for this same franchise: codes do not carry a name, so one from somewhere else may not be recognised as wrong.
