The series is one novel per season and in the same order as the novels, so for the first five seasons the two run in step and you can read or watch in either lane. That stops at the sixth season, which adapts two books at once, so the season number and the book number part company from there. Read or watch in order either way: the plot carries forward hard and later books spoil earlier ones badly.
