Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist and Street Fighter: Resurrection share a creator in Joey Ansah, a continuity, and their cast, with Resurrection set ten years after. The short film Street Fighter: Legacy from 2010 is the proof of concept that got them made. A middle instalment called World Warrior was planned and abandoned. Everything else is independent. Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie and Street Fighter II V are not related: the series is a looser retelling with a younger cast, sharing a director and some English dub voices and nothing else. Street Fighter Alpha: The Animation is an independent story rather than a prequel or sequel to either, and Alpha: Generations shares its branding rather than its continuity. Street Fighter IV: The Ties That Bind, which came bundled with a game rather than released on its own, is not listed. The 1994 live action film and The Legend of Chun-Li are separate attempts twelve years apart with nothing in common. The American cartoon from 1995 is generally described as spun off the live action film's premise, with Guile leading a team, and we have not been able to confirm that it was actually intended as a continuation, so it is described rather than asserted. It ran two seasons of thirteen episodes each. Two dates are flagged as unconfirmed. Street Fighter Alpha: The Animation is dated 1999 by most references and 2000 by others including some official listings, and the entry is marked accordingly. Assassin's Fist is listed at twelve episodes, which is its original web release; it also exists as a six part television cut and as one feature length film, so any episode count for it depends on which version you watched. One thing frequently got wrong: the 1994 anime film is often dated 1995, which is its American home video year rather than its Japanese release. A new live action film directed by Kitao Sakurai is dated for 16 October 2026, produced by Legendary with Capcom and distributed by Paramount. It has not been released and is not listed. Older reports naming Sony as the distributor are out of date.
