Where to start with The Omen

Release order for the original run, and do not let the prequel's title move it to the front. The First Omen ends on the swap that the 1976 film opens with, so watching it first turns the original's reveal into a recap.

  1. 1
    The Omen (1976) The Omen

Damien at five, a diplomat father, and a string of deaths nobody wants to explain. Nothing precedes it.

  2. 2
Damien – Omen II (1978) Damien – Omen II

Opens a week after the first film and then puts a card on screen reading seven years later. Damien is twelve and starting to understand what he is.

  3. 3
The Final Conflict (1981) The Final Conflict

Damien at thirty two, an adult in charge of a corporation. Only five real years separate this from the first film and twenty in-story ones, which is disorienting if nobody warns you.

Then what? Omen IV: The Awakening from 1991 is a television film that continues the mythology without Damien, who dies at the end of The Final Conflict; it follows his daughter and a new child. The First Omen from 2024 is a straight prequel to the 1976 film and is best saved until after it. The 2006 remake is a standalone with no sequels and no link to the prequel. Damien, the ten episode series from 2016, is a third path: a direct sequel to the 1976 film that discards Omen II, The Final Conflict and Omen IV entirely. It was cancelled after one season.

A suggested way in, not an official one. The full list is below: tick anything off in either place.

Everything you tick is saved in this browser and nowhere else. An account is the only way to put your list on another device, and the only way to get it back if this browser clears its storage. It is free and it takes an email address and a password.

Sign in on your phone, your laptop, anything, and the same list is there, kept in step as you tick. Nothing to copy, nothing to remember.

All three are about this franchise and all three are for showing, not moving. The link and the picture open SagaList with that progress displayed next to whatever the person opening it has already ticked. The code is what a friend pastes into Compare below. None of them writes anything into anybody's list.

Read only. This never changes what you have saved, and nothing leaves your browser. The code has to be their code for this same franchise: codes do not carry a name, so one from somewhere else may not be recognised as wrong.

Removes everything ticked here, in this browser. If you are signed in it clears on your other devices too. If you are not, there is no other copy and this cannot be undone.
