Trigun

The 1998 anime invents its own ending, and the 2023 one is a reimagining rather than a remake.

Where to start with Trigun

Three separate versions of the same premise. Pick one, because they do not line up with each other.

  1. 1
    Trigun (1998) Trigun

Twenty six episodes, and the version most people mean. Go in knowing it overtook the manga and invented its own ending, so it finishes but not the way the book does.

  2. 2
    Trigun Stampede (2023) Trigun Stampede

Start here for the newer one, and understand what it is. It is not the 1998 story done properly. It keeps the characters and the world and changes the plot, the relationships and the order things happen in, so it is a different telling rather than a faithful one.

  3. 3
    Trigun (1995 manga) Trigun

The only complete original. Read Trigun and then Trigun Maximum as one story; the title changes because the magazine folded, not because the story restarts.

Then what? Trigun Stargaze, twelve episodes in 2026, continues Stampede. Badlands Rumble, from 2010, is a standalone film belonging to the 1998 continuity rather than the newer one, so putting it after Stampede is wrong.

A suggested way in, not an official one. The full list is below: tick anything off in either place.

Everything you tick is saved in this browser and nowhere else. An account is the only way to put your list on another device, and the only way to get it back if this browser clears its storage. It is free and it takes an email address and a password.

Sign in on your phone, your laptop, anything, and the same list is there, kept in step as you tick. Nothing to copy, nothing to remember.

All three are about this franchise and all three are for showing, not moving. The link and the picture open SagaList with that progress displayed next to whatever the person opening it has already ticked. The code is what a friend pastes into Compare below. None of them writes anything into anybody's list.

Read only. This never changes what you have saved, and nothing leaves your browser. The code has to be their code for this same franchise: codes do not carry a name, so one from somewhere else may not be recognised as wrong.

Removes everything ticked here, in this browser. If you are signed in it clears on your other devices too. If you are not, there is no other copy and this cannot be undone.
