A Court of Thorns and Roses

Five books out, two more dated, and the fourth is a novella that a lot of readers skip by mistake.

Where to start with A Court of Thorns and Roses

Read in publication order. The only decision is what to do about the novella.

  1. 1
The first three books A Court of Thorns and Roses, Mist and Fury, Wings and Ruin

Thorns and Roses, Mist and Fury, Wings and Ruin. Go in knowing the first book is the weakest and the most conventional; the series is not really what it appears to be until the second.

  2. 2
A Court of Frost and Starlight A Court of Frost and Starlight

It is a novella, it is often left out of lists, and the fifth book assumes it. Read it; it is short.

  3. 3
A Court of Silver Flames A Court of Silver Flames

The fifth book. Different narrator, much darker, and much more explicit than the earlier ones.

Then what? Books six and seven are dated for October 2026 and January 2027 with no titles yet. Sarah J. Maas's other series, Throne of Glass and Crescent City, are connected to this one, which has its own page here.

A suggested way in, not an official one. The full list is below: tick anything off in either place.

Everything you tick is saved in this browser and nowhere else. An account is the only way to put your list on another device, and the only way to get it back if this browser clears its storage. It is free and it takes an email address and a password.

Sign in on your phone, your laptop, anything, and the same list is there, kept in step as you tick. Nothing to copy, nothing to remember.

All three are about this franchise and all three are for showing, not moving. The link and the picture open SagaList with that progress displayed next to whatever the person opening it has already ticked. The code is what a friend pastes into Compare below. None of them writes anything into anybody's list.

Read only. This never changes what you have saved, and nothing leaves your browser. The code has to be their code for this same franchise: codes do not carry a name, so one from somewhere else may not be recognised as wrong.

Removes everything ticked here, in this browser. If you are signed in it clears on your other devices too. If you are not, there is no other copy and this cannot be undone.
