Where to start with Artemis Fowl

Read the eight books in order. There is one film and it only covers the first book, so it is not a way in to the rest.

  1. 1
    Artemis Fowl (2001) Artemis Fowl

The first book, and the one thing everything else depends on. A child genius kidnapping a fairy officer for gold, told from the kidnapper's side.

  2. 2
Artemis Fowl and the Arctic Incident (2002) Artemis Fowl and the Arctic Incident

Follows straight on, and it is where the series widens out. Worth knowing the film takes this book's plot about his missing father and puts it in its version of the first.

  3. 3
The Fowl Twins (2019) The Fowl Twins

Where to go after the eighth book. A separate trilogy about his younger brothers, set five years later, and it assumes you know everything that came before.

Then what? Books three to eight run in straight publication order and end properly. The film from 2020 adapts the first book loosely, changes who Artemis is, and there is no second one. Graphic novel versions exist of the first four books and stop there.

A suggested way in, not an official one. The full list is below: tick anything off in either place.

Everything you tick is saved in this browser and nowhere else. An account is the only way to put your list on another device, and the only way to get it back if this browser clears its storage. It is free and it takes an email address and a password.

Sign in on your phone, your laptop, anything, and the same list is there, kept in step as you tick. Nothing to copy, nothing to remember.

All three are about this franchise and all three are for showing, not moving. The link and the picture open SagaList with that progress displayed next to whatever the person opening it has already ticked. The code is what a friend pastes into Compare below. None of them writes anything into anybody's list.

Read only. This never changes what you have saved, and nothing leaves your browser. The code has to be their code for this same franchise: codes do not carry a name, so one from somewhere else may not be recognised as wrong.

Removes everything ticked here, in this browser. If you are signed in it clears on your other devices too. If you are not, there is no other copy and this cannot be undone.
