Goosebumps

A books line first, then a 1990s anthology, two films and a modern series. Four separate front doors, and not one of them needs another.

Where to start with Goosebumps

There is no wrong first step here, and that is worth saying out loud, because four separate things carry this name and none of them is a sequel to another. Pick the medium you want and start at its beginning.

  1. 1
The 1995 series, any episode Goosebumps

The easiest way in. Twenty two minutes, one book, a twist, done. Nothing carries over, so there is nothing to catch up on and no bad episode to start on.

  2. 2
The 2023 series, season one Goosebumps

The modern one, and the only version with a story that runs across a season. Start here rather than with The Vanishing only because it came first, not because it is needed.

  3. 3
    The 2015 film Goosebumps

If you want the whole line in one sitting. It is about the books rather than from them, so it works without having read any.

  4. 4
Any of the original sixty two books Goosebumps

Sixty two standalones means the first one and the fortieth are equally good places to begin. Welcome to Dead House is the first, and The Haunted Mask is the one most people remember.

Then what? After that, the rest is pick and mix. The only thing on this page with a reading order inside it is HorrorLand, whose nineteen books run in two arcs and are better in order.

A suggested way in, not an official one. The full list is below: tick anything off in either place.

Everything you tick is saved in this browser and nowhere else. An account is the only way to put your list on another device, and the only way to get it back if this browser clears its storage. It is free and it takes an email address and a password.

Sign in on your phone, your laptop, anything, and the same list is there, kept in step as you tick. Nothing to copy, nothing to remember.

All three are about this franchise and all three are for showing, not moving. The link and the picture open SagaList with that progress displayed next to whatever the person opening it has already ticked. The code is what a friend pastes into Compare below. None of them writes anything into anybody's list.

Read only. This never changes what you have saved, and nothing leaves your browser. The code has to be their code for this same franchise: codes do not carry a name, so one from somewhere else may not be recognised as wrong.

Removes everything ticked here, in this browser. If you are signed in it clears on your other devices too. If you are not, there is no other copy and this cannot be undone.
