Where to start with Hajime no Ippo

Everything runs in order with no remakes and nothing out of sequence. The only thing to know is where the two specials go and that the anime stops a long way short of the manga.

  1. 1
Hajime no Ippo (2000) Hajime no Ippo

Seventy six episodes, and one of the best sports anime ever made. A bullied boy is handed a pair of boxing gloves and the series takes the training absolutely seriously.

  2. 2
Hajime no Ippo: Champion Road (2003) Hajime no Ippo: Champion Road

A ninety minute television film that goes here, between the first and second seasons. It is not a numbered episode, so a lot of people skip past it without realising.

  3. 3
Hajime no Ippo: New Challenger (2009) Hajime no Ippo: New Challenger

Twenty six episodes, seven years later. The gap is real and the episode count drops hard from the first season, which surprises people.

Then what? Mashiba vs. Kimura, a sixty minute video release from 2003, also sits between the first and second seasons. Rising, twenty five episodes in 2013, is the last thing animated. After that the only way on is the manga, which is still being written after a hundred and forty five volumes.

A suggested way in, not an official one. The full list is below: tick anything off in either place.

Everything you tick is saved in this browser and nowhere else. An account is the only way to put your list on another device, and the only way to get it back if this browser clears its storage. It is free and it takes an email address and a password.

Sign in on your phone, your laptop, anything, and the same list is there, kept in step as you tick. Nothing to copy, nothing to remember.

All three are about this franchise and all three are for showing, not moving. The link and the picture open SagaList with that progress displayed next to whatever the person opening it has already ticked. The code is what a friend pastes into Compare below. None of them writes anything into anybody's list.

Read only. This never changes what you have saved, and nothing leaves your browser. The code has to be their code for this same franchise: codes do not carry a name, so one from somewhere else may not be recognised as wrong.

Removes everything ticked here, in this browser. If you are signed in it clears on your other devices too. If you are not, there is no other copy and this cannot be undone.
