Twenty three series, more than a thousand episodes, twenty two years without a break, and about half of it has never been legally released in English.
Pick a series and watch it. Twenty one of the twenty three are complete stories with their own cast, their own villains and their own transformation gimmick, and there is no ongoing plot. The two exceptions are direct sequels and both are obvious once you know: Max Heart follows Futari wa Pretty Cure, and Yes! PreCure 5 GoGo! follows Yes! PreCure 5. The harder question is not which one is good, it is which one you can actually watch legally, because roughly half the franchise has never been released in English at all.
Seen some of these already? Tap the circles to tick them off. The full list below fills in as you go.
The original, and the only series with a proper English dub that is currently streaming, on Hulu in the United States since February 2026. Forty nine episodes, two girls who fight with their fists, and noticeably harder edged than what the franchise became.
Recommended by published guides largely on grounds of availability: it is one of the entries with good official subtitles, which in this franchise is a real argument. Patisserie themed, light, and self contained.
One of the recent ones carrying Toei's own English title and subtitled on Crunchyroll in most regions. If you want a modern entry with current animation and no availability hunt, start here.
The entry fans name first when availability is not part of the question. Darker themes, the strongest action in the franchise, and no legal English release anywhere, which is worth knowing before you go looking.
Then what? Two series to avoid as a first watch, and the guides agree on both. Hug! PreCure is the fifteenth anniversary series and brings the 2004 leads into four of its own episodes, so its best moments are payoffs for a show you have not seen. HappinessCharge PreCure! is the entry that ranks lowest with fans and sits furthest from the house tone. Splash Star is the trap in the other direction: its Japanese title carries the Futari wa prefix of the first two series, which makes it look like a third part, and it is a complete restart with a new cast. The crossover films sit outside every series' continuity and can be skipped entirely.
A suggested way in, not an official one. The full list is below: tick anything off in either place.
Everything you tick is saved in this browser and nowhere else. An account is the only way to put your list on another device, and the only way to get it back if this browser clears its storage. It is free and it takes an email address and a password.
Sign in on your phone, your laptop, anything, and the same list is there, kept in step as you tick. Nothing to copy, nothing to remember.
All three are about this franchise and all three are for showing, not moving. The link and the picture open SagaList with that progress displayed next to whatever the person opening it has already ticked. The code is what a friend pastes into Compare below. None of them writes anything into anybody's list.
Read only. This never changes what you have saved, and nothing leaves your browser. The code has to be their code for this same franchise: codes do not carry a name, so one from somewhere else may not be recognised as wrong.
Removes everything ticked here, in this browser. If you are signed in it clears on your other devices too. If you are not, there is no other copy and this cannot be undone.
Your email is confirmed and your account is ready. Everything you tick is saved on this device, as it always was.
Yours, on every device you sign in on.
Your SagaList account.
Nothing else happens until you follow the link. If it has not arrived in a few minutes, look in your spam folder and search for SagaList. It is sent from a no-reply address on our own domain, so there is nothing to reply to.
Both addresses get an email: the new one to confirm it, and the old one so that nobody can move your account without you knowing. Nothing changes until you follow the link.
Signing out leaves everything you have ticked on this device exactly where it is. It only stops it syncing.
This removes your account, your email address, and the progress stored on our side. It cannot be undone and we cannot get it back for you.
Nothing is charged and nothing is cancelled, because SagaList does not take payments. What goes is your account, your email address and the progress synced to our side. What stays is everything ticked in the browser on this device.
