Snow White and the Huntsman

Two films, and the second one is a prequel for its first act and a sequel for the rest.

Where to start with Snow White and the Huntsman

Both, in release order, and this is a case where sorting by story would actively spoil things. The second film is part prequel, and the prequel part is not where it starts mattering.

  1. 1
Snow White & the Huntsman (2012) Snow White & the Huntsman

The Snow White story told as a war film, with Charlize Theron as the queen and Chris Hemsworth as the huntsman sent to kill her. Nothing precedes it.

  2. 2
The Huntsman: Winter's War (2016) The Huntsman: Winter's War

Its first act is a prequel: the backstory of Freya, the queen's sister, who loses a child, turns into an ice queen and raises abducted children as huntsmen, which is where Eric comes from. The rest of the film is a sequel, set after Ravenna's defeat. Watching it first would give away the end of the film it is prequelling.

Then what? That is both. There is no third film. The second underperformed badly enough that the franchise simply stopped, though no formal cancellation was ever announced. Kristen Stewart does not return: she was offered a cameo and turned it down, and filmed no new material.

A suggested way in, not an official one. The full list is below: tick anything off in either place.

Everything you tick is saved in this browser and nowhere else. An account is the only way to put your list on another device, and the only way to get it back if this browser clears its storage. It is free and it takes an email address and a password.

Sign in on your phone, your laptop, anything, and the same list is there, kept in step as you tick. Nothing to copy, nothing to remember.

All three are about this franchise and all three are for showing, not moving. The link and the picture open SagaList with that progress displayed next to whatever the person opening it has already ticked. The code is what a friend pastes into Compare below. None of them writes anything into anybody's list.

Read only. This never changes what you have saved, and nothing leaves your browser. The code has to be their code for this same franchise: codes do not carry a name, so one from somewhere else may not be recognised as wrong.

Removes everything ticked here, in this browser. If you are signed in it clears on your other devices too. If you are not, there is no other copy and this cannot be undone.
