The easiest landing for anyone who has seen Power Rangers, because S.P.D. was cut from it and the police premise is identical. Fifty episodes, well liked on its own terms, and the series most often named as the strongest standalone year.
The other name that comes up every time. A samurai drama played straight, with a heavier tone than the franchise usually allows, and forty nine episodes that hold together as one story rather than a run of episodes.
The thirty fifth anniversary series, in which a pirate crew acquires the powers of all thirty four teams before them. Guides often recommend it as a sampler, which is backwards: it is built out of recognition, and recognition needs something to recognise. Save it until you have seen two or three others.

Then what? Two things are worth knowing before you dig further. The annual VS films pair each new team with the one before it, they are treated as non-canon side stories, and you can ignore all of them without missing anything. And the decision about where to start is genuinely free: there is no continuity between series, no returning lead, and no reward for going in order. The one soft exception is Gokaiger, and the harder ones are the anniversary years generally, Ohranger, Gaoranger, Boukenger, Zenkaiger and Gozyuger, all of which lean on franchise history. If you came here from Power Rangers, the notes on each series say which Power Rangers season it became, and the answer is often none: the entire pre-1992 run of fifteen series was never adapted, and nine more were skipped after that. Roughly three fifths of Super Sentai has no Power Rangers counterpart at all.
