Where to start with A Quiet Place

Release order, and this is one of the rare cases where the films tell you so themselves. They put day numbers on screen, and those numbers run in release order for the first two: Day 89, then Day 472, then Day 474. The prequel is the exception, and it is the one people are tempted to start with because it is called Day One.

  1. 1
    A Quiet Place (2018) A Quiet Place

Opens on a title card reading Day 89, establishes the rule the whole series runs on without a word of explanation, then jumps to Day 472 for the main story. Nothing before it is needed.

  2. 2
A Quiet Place Part II (2021) A Quiet Place Part II

Begins with a flashback card reading Day 1 and then picks up at Day 474, seconds after the first film's last shot. These two are effectively one film in two halves and nothing should be watched between them.

  3. 3
A Quiet Place: Day One (2024) A Quiet Place: Day One

A separate story in New York during the invasion, with no Abbott family in it. Watching it here rather than first means the character Djimon Hounsou plays in Part II arrives as a surprise in the right direction.

Then what? That is everything released. A Quiet Place Part III is dated for July 2027 with Krasinski writing and directing, and it is listed here as unreleased so it counts towards nothing. There is a comic series and a video game; neither is listed, because neither is something to watch.

A suggested way in, not an official one. The full list is below: tick anything off in either place.

Everything you tick is saved in this browser and nowhere else. An account is the only way to put your list on another device, and the only way to get it back if this browser clears its storage. It is free and it takes an email address and a password.

Sign in on your phone, your laptop, anything, and the same list is there, kept in step as you tick. Nothing to copy, nothing to remember.

All three are about this franchise and all three are for showing, not moving. The link and the picture open SagaList with that progress displayed next to whatever the person opening it has already ticked. The code is what a friend pastes into Compare below. None of them writes anything into anybody's list.

Read only. This never changes what you have saved, and nothing leaves your browser. The code has to be their code for this same franchise: codes do not carry a name, so one from somewhere else may not be recognised as wrong.

Removes everything ticked here, in this browser. If you are signed in it clears on your other devices too. If you are not, there is no other copy and this cannot be undone.
