Straightforward, which is worth saying because so little else here is: eight Harry Potter films in the order they were made, which is also the order they happen. The only real decision is whether to carry on afterwards.

Where the series stops being a children's adventure and becomes the thing people are still talking about twenty years later. If the first two leave you cold, this is the one that decides it.
A real ending, which is rarer than it should be. Everything from the first film pays off here, and the story is genuinely finished when it stops.
Then what? Fantastic Beasts is a prequel trilogy about a different character in a different decade, and it was cut short at three of a planned five, so it does not finish. Optional in every sense. The television series starting in 2026 retells the books from the beginning and is a separate telling, not a continuation.
