Prom Night

The second film is a sequel in name only, and after that the series changes what it is about twice more.

Where to start with Prom Night

There is no single thread here. Pick the one you actually want, because the four original films are close to four separate movies.

  1. 1
    Prom Night (1980) Prom Night

The famous one. A straight slasher with Jamie Lee Curtis, and it stands entirely alone: no later film picks it up and nothing in it sets up the sequels.

  2. 2
Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II (1987) Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II

Start here instead if you want the best film in the series. It was shot as its own movie and renamed, so you lose nothing by skipping the first, and it introduces Mary Lou, who is the only character the series ever continues.

  3. 3
Prom Night III: The Last Kiss (1990) Prom Night III: The Last Kiss

The one film that follows on from another. It continues Mary Lou's story straight from the second film, with a different actress in the part, and it plays the whole thing for laughs.

Then what? Prom Night IV from 1991 abandons Mary Lou for an unrelated possessed priest story and only nods back once. The 2008 remake redoes the 1980 film and ignores everything between, so it works cold. A film called The Club from 1994 was developed as Prom Night V and released without the branding, so it is not an entry here.

A suggested way in, not an official one. The full list is below: tick anything off in either place.

Everything you tick is saved in this browser and nowhere else. An account is the only way to put your list on another device, and the only way to get it back if this browser clears its storage. It is free and it takes an email address and a password.

Sign in on your phone, your laptop, anything, and the same list is there, kept in step as you tick. Nothing to copy, nothing to remember.

All three are about this franchise and all three are for showing, not moving. The link and the picture open SagaList with that progress displayed next to whatever the person opening it has already ticked. The code is what a friend pastes into Compare below. None of them writes anything into anybody's list.

Read only. This never changes what you have saved, and nothing leaves your browser. The code has to be their code for this same franchise: codes do not carry a name, so one from somewhere else may not be recognised as wrong.

Removes everything ticked here, in this browser. If you are signed in it clears on your other devices too. If you are not, there is no other copy and this cannot be undone.
