Rambo

Five films in a straight line, two of which are titled in a way that hides them from every list.

Where to start with Rambo

Release order, straight through, and the only reason people get lost is the titles. Two of the five are named in ways that break every alphabetical list and every streaming search.

  1. 1
    First Blood (1982) First Blood

Not called Rambo anything, and not the film the series is remembered as. It is a quiet, sad thriller about a homeless veteran, and it is the best of the five.

  2. 2
Rambo: First Blood Part II (1985) Rambo: First Blood Part II

Where the character turns into the one on the poster, and where the series changes genre completely. It follows the first film directly.

  3. 3
    Rambo (2008) Rambo

The fourth film, twenty years after the third, and confusingly titled the same as the franchise. It is by a distance the most violent of them.

Then what? Rambo III goes between the second and fourth, and Last Blood closes it out. The 1986 cartoon is a children's show in a separate universe that ignores the films entirely and can be skipped without losing anything. A prequel called John Rambo, with Noah Centineo in the part, is dated 4 June 2027.

A suggested way in, not an official one. The full list is below — tick anything off in either place.

Sync & backup

Your progress is saved on this device automatically. To carry it to another device, move the code below.

The code holds only this franchise. The link opens the tracker with your progress already filled in — good for showing someone where you're at. The image is a picture you can keep anywhere: scan the code on it with a phone, or drag the file back in below.

Drag a SagaList image here, or .

This reads the progress stored inside the picture, so nothing has to be retyped. If the image has been through a messaging app it may have been re-encoded and lost that — scan the code on it instead, or copy the code printed along the bottom.

Restoring replaces the progress currently saved on this device for the franchise the code belongs to.
