The Prophecy

A three film Walken trilogy, and then two films made in Romania that share almost nothing with it.

Where to start with The Prophecy

Watch the first three in order. They are one story and Christopher Walken is in all of them. Stop there unless you want the two that follow, which are a different thing wearing the same name.

  1. 1
    The Prophecy (1995) The Prophecy

Walken as Gabriel and Viggo Mortensen as Lucifer, in a war in heaven fought over one soul on earth. Nothing comes before it and it is by a distance the best of the five.

  2. 2
The Prophecy II (1998) The Prophecy II

A direct continuation with Gabriel back from hell. Cheaper and straight to video, but the story genuinely follows on and it sets up the third.

  3. 3
The Prophecy 3: The Ascent (2000) The Prophecy 3: The Ascent

Finishes what the second film started and turns Gabriel around. It is Walken's last time in the part and the proper end of the series.

Then what? The Prophecy: Uprising and The Prophecy: Forsaken, both 2005, drop the entire cast and start a new story in Romania about a book called the Lexicon. They were shot at the same time and the second continues the first straight on, so watch them together or not at all. Nothing in the first three films prepares you for them and nothing in them pays the first three off.

A suggested way in, not an official one. The full list is below: tick anything off in either place.

Everything you tick is saved in this browser and nowhere else. An account is the only way to put your list on another device, and the only way to get it back if this browser clears its storage. It is free and it takes an email address and a password.

Sign in on your phone, your laptop, anything, and the same list is there, kept in step as you tick. Nothing to copy, nothing to remember.

All three are about this franchise and all three are for showing, not moving. The link and the picture open SagaList with that progress displayed next to whatever the person opening it has already ticked. The code is what a friend pastes into Compare below. None of them writes anything into anybody's list.

Read only. This never changes what you have saved, and nothing leaves your browser. The code has to be their code for this same franchise: codes do not carry a name, so one from somewhere else may not be recognised as wrong.

Removes everything ticked here, in this browser. If you are signed in it clears on your other devices too. If you are not, there is no other copy and this cannot be undone.
