S.W.A.T.

Three separate S.W.A.T.s that share a name and little else: a 1975 ABC series, a 2003 film line, and the 2017 CBS show that ran eight years and is still going as a Starz spin-off.

Where to start with S.W.A.T.

Start at the 2017 series. It is the version with the audience, it is the only branch still making new episodes, and it is the one Exiles continues from. The 1975 series and the films are optional and can be watched at any point, because none of them connects to it.

  1. 1
    S.W.A.T., the 2017 series, season 1 S.W.A.T.

Twenty two episodes and a clean start. If the first few suit you the other seven seasons are the same shape, and you need this show before Exiles makes any sense.

  2. 2
    S.W.A.T. Exiles S.W.A.T. Exiles

The continuation, airing now on Starz. Two episodes so far and a new one every Friday. Same Hondo, new team, and people from the CBS show turn up.

  3. 3
    S.W.A.T., the 2003 film S.W.A.T.

Optional and self contained. Worth watching before the 2017 series rather than after, because that show lifts its character names from this film and the echo is more fun that way round.

  4. 4
    S.W.A.T., the 1975 series S.W.A.T.

For the history. Thirty seven episodes of mid-seventies ABC action, and the reason any of the rest exists. Nothing in the modern shows depends on it.

Then what? The two direct to video films are the lowest priority on this page. They carry the title and nothing else: no returning characters, no continuing story, and no bearing on anything above.

A suggested way in, not an official one. The full list is below: tick anything off in either place.

Everything you tick is saved in this browser and nowhere else. An account is the only way to put your list on another device, and the only way to get it back if this browser clears its storage. It is free and it takes an email address and a password.

Sign in on your phone, your laptop, anything, and the same list is there, kept in step as you tick. Nothing to copy, nothing to remember.

All three are about this franchise and all three are for showing, not moving. The link and the picture open SagaList with that progress displayed next to whatever the person opening it has already ticked. The code is what a friend pastes into Compare below. None of them writes anything into anybody's list.

Read only. This never changes what you have saved, and nothing leaves your browser. The code has to be their code for this same franchise: codes do not carry a name, so one from somewhere else may not be recognised as wrong.

Removes everything ticked here, in this browser. If you are signed in it clears on your other devices too. If you are not, there is no other copy and this cannot be undone.
