Where to start with Horimiya

Watch the 2021 series, then The Missing Pieces. Both are called Horimiya and both number their episodes from one, which is the only trap on this page. The 2012 OVA line and the live action are separate retellings of the same material and neither is needed.

  1. 1
Horimiya, the 2021 series, thirteen episodes Horimiya

The main adaptation, and the only one that tells the story start to finish. It cuts a lot to do it in thirteen.

  2. 2
The Missing Pieces, thirteen episodes Horimiya: The Missing Pieces

The chapters the first series skipped, with the same studio and cast. It is largely episodic, so it reads as more of the same couple rather than a continuation, and it is best after the 2021 series rather than woven into it.

Then what? Everything else is optional and overlaps. The six OVA episodes from 2012 to 2021 are an earlier, rougher adaptation of the same early chapters, worth it only if you want to see how the material was handled first. The live action drama is seven episodes of the same story with actors, and its theatrical edition is a re-cut of that drama's first three episodes, so watching both means watching the opening twice.

A suggested way in, not an official one. The full list is below: tick anything off in either place.

Everything you tick is saved in this browser and nowhere else. An account is the only way to put your list on another device, and the only way to get it back if this browser clears its storage. It is free and it takes an email address and a password.

Sign in on your phone, your laptop, anything, and the same list is there, kept in step as you tick. Nothing to copy, nothing to remember.

All three are about this franchise and all three are for showing, not moving. The link and the picture open SagaList with that progress displayed next to whatever the person opening it has already ticked. The code is what a friend pastes into Compare below. None of them writes anything into anybody's list.

Read only. This never changes what you have saved, and nothing leaves your browser. The code has to be their code for this same franchise: codes do not carry a name, so one from somewhere else may not be recognised as wrong.

Removes everything ticked here, in this browser. If you are signed in it clears on your other devices too. If you are not, there is no other copy and this cannot be undone.
