Three films spread over forty-three years, and the one series that fills the gap between the first two is the piece the films quietly assume you already know.
Start with the 1982 film, then take the animated series before Legacy rather than after it. The series is set in the twenty years the films skip, and it is the only place the events Legacy treats as settled history are actually shown happening.

The original. Nothing precedes it, and it establishes the one idea every later entry runs on, which is a person going inside a computer system rather than a program coming out.
Nineteen episodes set after the first film and before the second, on the system Legacy takes place in. It shows the takeover Legacy only describes, and it is not a spin-off you can safely leave out.
The 2010 sequel, set about twenty years after the original. Watching it after the series means its account of what happened in between reads as confirmation rather than as exposition you have to take on trust.
The 2025 film. It follows Legacy in time and largely starts fresh, with new leads and a new company, so almost nothing before it is required beyond knowing who Kevin Flynn was.
Then what? That is everything on screen. The ten minute short Tron: The Next Day sits on the Legacy home release and is worth ten minutes if you liked Legacy, and the graphic novel Tron: Betrayal covers Flynn building the Grid and losing it, which is the part Uprising begins after. No fourth film has been announced.

Read only. This never changes what you have saved, and nothing leaves your browser. The code has to be their code for this same franchise: codes do not carry a name, so one from somewhere else may not be recognised as wrong.
